World War III: Team Yankee is a miniatures game that allows you to re-fight the battles that might have been if the Cold War had gone hot. Would NATO have been able to hold against the immense power of the Soviet Union? Could the numerous Warsaw Pact tanks defeat smaller numbers of technically superior Western tanks? The events in the background of Team Yankee are based on the novel by HW Coyle, then a soldier serving with the US Army in Europe. Team Yankee is about one company, or team, called Team Yankee, a tank-heavy combat team under the command of Captain Sean Bannon in West Germany. At the start of the story the Team consists of eighty four men and a mix of modern, high-tech weaponry as well as tried and true, if somewhat old, equipment.
